Welcome from the Congress President

After the successful first European Congress of Medical Physics 2016  in Athens, it is my pleasure to welcome all the European Medical Physicists attending the second ECMP 2018 in Copenhagen.

Bridging knowledge across specialties, not only is the motto of the Congress but also among the main reasons to participate in this scientific initiative.

Sharing ideas between medical physics specialists, is the key of our increasing role in the research and in clinical practice. This will be the focus of the scientific program of the Congress.

Besides our scientific program, I hope you enjoy your visit to Copenhagen, which is full of attractions, from historical architecture to the modern Opera House. You will still be able to enjoy the summer period and take a river cruise in a city which is completely surrounded by the sea.

I would like to express my thanks to the Danish Society for Medical Physics and the Swedish Hospital Physicists Association for hosting the event in excellent facilities of the H.C. Ørsted Instituttet and to their Presidents Klaus Seiersen and Marie-Louise Aurumskjöld.
